The young people at Nixa SABR have told a couple untruths. Perhaps they were told these things, or perhaps they were careless. Nevertheless, public lies should be corrected.

Let's first correct this statement: "The new hire has been a library branch manager previously but does not have a degree related to library sciences."

Here are the qualifications for the incoming executive director of the Christian County Library:

• 2018 M.S. in Information and Library Science, University of Buffalo
• 2012 M.A., English, University of Auckland, New Zealand
• 2011 Postgraduate Diploma of Arts, English, University of Auckland, New Zealand
• 2010 B.A., English, Dowling College, Oakdale
• 2008 A.A., Liberal Arts, Suffolk County Community College, Selden

Second, the previous interim executive director quit as the ED shortly before her termination. Facts are important so as not to mislead the public.

Nixa SABR should correct their social media post. It will be telling if they do not. I hope someone apprises them of their errors.
