Misreading the Room

By Gretchen Garrity

"This vote is a conscience vote." -- Rep. Justin Sparks

The Republican political establishment in Jefferson City and beyond is once again finding out true power resides with the People.

When establishment GOP leaders attempted to steal the will of the people at the state GOP convention in May 2024, their dirty work was overturned at the National Convention in Milwaukee in July. If Missouri GOP party leaders, and their financial backers think the People are going away they have sadly misread the room.

The underbelly of politics in Jefferson City is being systematically exposed, and a rising tide of resolve among the people is emerging. It has been for some time, but those in power refuse to acknowledge it. The foolish and premature crowning of fake Republican Jon Patterson as Speaker of the Missouri House is indicative of the hubris of the establishment and its backers.

Tip for our representatives: Money can't buy you voters' love.

To learn about fake Republican Jon Patterson, here are a couple sources to catch up your friends and family:

Missouri RINOs Hold Secret Meeting to Conceive Plan for Placing RINO in Speakership (It's how the establishment operates to thwart the people)

The Case Against Jon Patterson for Speaker of the Missouri House in 2025 (gives lots of good info on the fake Republican Jon Patterson's actions)

It's guys like Patterson (and Cindy O'Laughlin and Mary Elizabeth Coleman and insert your local whipped rep here) who betray the principles and platform of Republicans to curry favor, gain power and influence, enrich their coffers, and so on.

And don't for a moment think your local GOP organizations aren't in on it. They hate that name 'RINO,' but many central committee members are the tag-alongs and sycophants of the state party establishment. They talk but they don't deliver.

Here's a roundup of interviews with Rep. Sparks. The latest one with Missouri Freedom Principle is first:

HOW THEY ROLL

And just to let you know how they roll in Missouri, at the recent fake caucus at the Missouri Farm Bureau plantation, supporters of Rep. Sparks were not allowed to stand up and speak in his favor.

Sparks exposed how the HRCC (House Republican Campaign Committee) raises funds by a pay-to-play scheme that targets freshmen representatives almost as soon as they are elected. They deny it, but at least seven current or former state representatives have responded in the affirmative to queries regarding the solicitation for thousands of dollars in donations for the HRCC. Do you suppose anything was promised to those who ponied up the funds?

Read HERE.

And more about the system of how your elected representatives are rated by groups that purport to care about conservative values. Apparently your representatives are rated on as little as five of the votes they take in any session. They are alerted to which votes they will be rated on, it is said. As long as they vote conservative on those votes, they get top rating as a conservative.

Clever, eh? Now you know why your "conservative" representative and his/her colleagues never seem to make headway with conservative legislation. It's all part of the system to keep the voters believing in their feckless representatives while having the wool pulled over their eyes in favor of special interest players.

PATTERSON AND HIS ILK BLINK

You may hear your local reps use scare tactics in order to gain your consent to having a fake Republican as house speaker. They will tell you that a split vote will get a Democrat in. Horrors. Uh, Patterson is a Democrat in all but name. But let's look at the numbers. There are 51 Democrats and 111 Republicans. Anyone care to tell us how a Democrat could win by a split vote? Except if you are talking about Jon Patterson. Now that fake Republican could get in if our Republican representatives don't have the guts and conscience to vote for Rep. Sparks.

Did you know they are trying to figure out how to do a private vote so you won't be able to know how your representative voted? And Patterson is purportedly walking back his declaration that he wouldn't oppose Amendment 3. That's rich.

The RINOs are beginning a stampede to the right. No one is fooled. Regardless of the outcome of the speaker race, a vote for Patterson will expose the fake Republicans in a way nothing else has.

It has to be Rep. Justin Sparks

If you want to know why you must support Rep. Justin Sparks in his bid to become the next Missouri House Speaker, here's one of the reasons why:

Jon Patterson, a completely fake Republican, thinks he has the position in the bag. Let's disabuse him of that notion. Amendment 3 was the turning point. Patterson won't oppose it. Amendment 3 allows abortion up to the moment of birth, and will allow for transgender surgeries and no accountability for botched abortions or trans surgeries. Amendment 3 must go down in flames in order to protect babies, as well as youth who are in danger of mutilating surgeries.

Missouri House Speaker Dean Plocher Wants to Outsource Our Voter Info?

Must watch.

According to the video, Plocher may be pressuring freshmen representatives to approve a two-year contract to outsource our voter role software system to a third party. The state already has an internal software system. It will cost the taxpayers $800,000. It is an off-session hearing being done quietly.

Plocher is looking at a potential run for lieutenant governor.

The vote is tomorrow, Sept. 12.
