David Rice has published four articles on his Substack Hick Christian in the last few days, which expose how Non-governmental Organizations like the American Library Association exercise influence over policies in the library through local NGOs. There is a system to how NGOs influence government entities. Besides their legal structure, the people who serve on these boards are often professionally and personally connected to those who work at the government entity. Essentially, the same people who are politically connected, also sit on these not-for-profit boards, helping to direct and implement policies that may or may not align with the voting public.
George Carlin's now famous line, "It's a big club and you ain't in it" serves here.
The articles:
- Setting the Record Straight: A Response to Recent Claims About Library Foundation Funding
- The Curious Case of Library Support: Questions About Christian County's Foundation Model
- How nonprofits do the ALA's bidding in Christian County
- 5% or Bust--Library Foundations belong to the Library--They are not Independent
Once again, you've exposed NOTHING! Of course fol an lf are going to have similarly aligned values. They have the same mission. Duh! Us citizens of CC voted overwhelmingly for the tax increase to fund the library. YOU were not here then. It passed with 68% support. Leave it alone.
ReplyDeleteI exposed you as an idiot. The more you comment, the more you show us how stupid you are.
DeleteFunding a library is one thing. Shelving books in the children's section that are age-inappropriate and sexually explicit is another thing. These two things are not alike.
ReplyDeleteWho's definition of age appropriate and sexually explicit? Why don't you understand that the legal definitions of these terms don't match yours?
ReplyDeleteYou know damn well that there is no pornography in the library. If there is, why hasn't sheriff cole done anything about it?
Cole is a Mason. Of course he won't do anything. Just like people who are Eastern Star.
DeleteWhat are the legal definitions then? Please state them. I have written about, and many citizens have spoken publicly about the AGE-INAPPROPRIATE and SEXUALLY EXPLICIT books in the children's and teen sections of the library. Feel free to search this website or watch the filmed library board meetings.
ReplyDeleteAs to the sheriff, you would have to ask him that question. Let me know what he says.
